This policy describes how SONU decides what to publish and how articles are researched, written, reviewed, and maintained. It applies to every article, quiz, and country page on the site.
1. Research standards
Every article begins with research. We gather facts from published, citable sources — reference works, academic publications, government and institutional records, and reputable news organisations for current events. We prefer primary sources where they exist, and we note the references used at the end of each article.
2. Drafting
Articles are drafted in clear, neutral language. Technical terms are explained on first use, and topics are covered at a level suitable for general readers and exam preparation. Claims are kept attributable: unsupported opinion is not published as fact. Where a subject is contested, we present the main viewpoints fairly.
3. Review
Drafts are reviewed by the editorial team before publication. The review checks factual accuracy, neutrality, structure, and readability. Common exam questions are added to articles where useful for students, and quizzes are checked for correctness.
4. How articles are written
Every article is researched and written by our editorial team from primary and authoritative secondary sources, then shaped into clear, plain-language explanations for students and general readers. Drafts pass through the review described above before they are published, and we keep each article accurate by revising it whenever reliable new information becomes available.
5. Updates and corrections
Articles are periodically revisited and updated, and the publication date on each article is refreshed when it is revised. Readers who report errors are credited with the fix where appropriate. You can report an error on the contact page.
6. Neutrality and conflicts of interest
Articles are written from a neutral point of view. The team does not accept payment or gifts in exchange for coverage, placement, or favourable treatment of any topic. Contributors are asked to disclose any conflict of interest relevant to what they write.
